Included with this edition of the newsletter you will find a ballot for the Denton Area Emmaus Community Board election.  This election will start the process that will convert our governing process from a Steering Committee to a Board.
The Steering Committee has reviewed the service of each of the individuals nominated and have found them to be qualified candidates for the position of board member.
The role of the board member is important to the growth of our Emmaus Community.
The Emmaus Board meets on the first Monday night of the month to make decisions that will help our community grow in the direction God is leading us.  They are committed to giving back their time because of how God has used Emmaus in their lives.  Keep this group of men and women in your prayers as they work to serve you.
Denton Area Emmaus Community members should vote for 12 people to serve on the Emmaus Board. 

FRANK BONNER
Attended Dallas Walk #31 in November 1993. Currently serving on the DAEC Steering Committee.  He worships at Argyle United Methodist Church.

ROY BRADSHAW
Attended Austin Walk # 276 in Dec 92. Currently serving on the DAEC Steering Committee. Past Austin North community Lay Director. Served two years on the Austin Board. Served one year on the Austin Chrysalis Board. Served one year on the Dallas West steering committee. Including Emmaus, Chrysalis, and Kairos, have worked over    35 Walks, and 6 outside teams. Have given all    Emmaus lay talks. Have served in all lay positions on an Emmaus Team. Past Lay Director Austin Walk #881. Helped start the De Moines Iowa Emmaus community in 94. Currently worships at Flower Mound United Methodist Church.

BARBARA CARRUTH
Attended Dallas Walk #15 in November of 1992.  Has served as 4^th Day Team Member 4 times and leader 2 times.  Served as Lay Director in 1998  having served in all team positions prior to that time, and has continued to serve in the Dallas  Community, as well as on Denton #2.  Has served on the Steering Committee from the beginning   and is presently the Community Lay Director.     She worships at Trietsch Memorial UMC

NANCY DANIEL
Attended Dallas Women's Walk #7 in December 1989, has served on numerous Dallas Emmaus team, serving as Lay Director of Dallas Emmaus #102.  Served  on numerous Dallas Chrysalis teams as well as the Dallas Chrysalis Board of Directors, and Lay Director of Dallas Girls' Chrysalis #14.  She has also served on numerous 4^th Day teams in the Dallas Emmaus Community and the Servant Team for Denton Area Emmaus Walk #2.  She worships at St. Andrews Christian Church in Carrollton.

MIKE FARRER
Attended Dallas Walk #135.  Worked on the 4^th Day team for Walk #142, and on the Servant Team for Denton #1.  Has been a Table Leader for Chrysalis, and has worked outside for many Chrysalis events.  He worships at Flower Mound United Methodist Church.

KATHY FAULKENBERRY
Attended Dallas Women's Walk #43 in October 1994, has served on 9 Inside Teams and is scheduled to be Lay Director for Denton #4 in September 2002.  She has also served on many 4^th day teams, and is very active in the community. She has served on the Steering Committee from the beginning and is the Community Assistant Lay Director and also serves as the Registrar.  She worships at FUMC Lewisville.
